What Is The Difference Between A Hot Plate Machine And A Hot Melt Machine?

What's the difference between a hot plate welder and a hot melt welder? You might be a little confused about the concepts of hot plate welders and hot melt welders. They are certainly different, but they also have some similarities. Today, I will guide you through the relevant welding knowledge of hot plate welders and hot melt welders.

A hot plate welder uses a pull-out plate structure. The heat from the heating plate is transferred to the welding surfaces of the upper and lower plastic heating parts via electric heating. The surface is melted, and then the heating plate is quickly removed. After heating the upper and lower heating elements, the molten surfaces melt, solidify, and fuse. The entire machine is a frame type, composed of three main parts: an upper mold, a lower mold, and a hot mold, equipped with a hot mold and upper and lower plastic cold molds. The operation modes are pneumatic control and manual. It is mainly suitable for welding plastic parts in household appliances, lamps, automotive electrical components, etc.

A hot plate welder can set the heating power and mold size according to the size of different plastic parts, thus achieving the welding of various plastic parts. It is simple and easy to operate. The heating plate consists of upper and lower parts, heated by electric heating tubes. The machine is equipped with two temperature controllers to control the temperature of the upper and lower molds respectively. During welding, the temperature can be set within the range of 0~600℃ according to the actual welding requirements. The equipment control methods can be divided into manual control and automatic control. Manual control is a single-action operation, mainly used for adjusting the mechanism and mold. After manual adjustment, it can be switched to automatic control during production. The automatic control system uses a programmable logic controller (PLC) and a touch screen human-machine interface for control. The movement of each cylinder is driven by air pressure. It is simple to operate, reliable in performance, small in size, and improves production efficiency and quality.

Hot melt machines are widely used as a special type of machine or in conjunction with automatic machines. Using relatively high-performance heaters and thermocouples allows for good control of the heating temperature, resulting in more stable processing. Generally, current hot melt machines are mainly used for welding plastics and metals. The main processes include riveting, hot melt molding, and hot melt cutting. Furthermore, since the material requirements for hot melt products are not very high, welding is generally not required for most plastics. After welding, the product's strength can be guaranteed to reach over 80% of the car body's strength.

Features of the hot platen stamping machine:

1. Suitable for workpieces of different sizes, with no area limitation;

2. Suitable for any welding surface, with no special requirements;

3. Allows for plasticity allowance compensation on the welding surface, ensuring weld strength;

4. Welding process can be adjusted according to the needs of various materials;

5. The clamps are fixed at corresponding positions on the upper and lower pressure plates;

6. Under the action of the power, positioning, and guiding system of the upper and lower pressure plates, the rubber part comes into contact with the scald mold, scalds at high speed, stably, and without impact, so that the material on the mating surface of the rubber part is in a molten state;

7. Smoothly and quickly removes the stamping die in a short time;

8. The heating plate, upper clamp, and lower clamp of the hot stamping die are designed as an independent assembly, facilitating installation and handling;

9. The hot plate material is imported from abroad.

Difference between a hot melt machine and a hot platen machine:

A hot melt machine is a specialized machine or widely used in conjunction with automatic machines. It uses a high-performance heater and a high-precision thermocouple, allowing for precise control of the heating temperature and stable and efficient processing. It is suitable for riveting, hot melt molding, hot melt cutting, metal screw embedding, LCD riveting, and molding between plastics and metals. The material requirements for hot melt machines are not very high; most plastics can be welded. After welding, the watertightness of the product can be guaranteed, and the strength can guarantee more than 80% of the car body.

The hot plate welding machine adopts a pull-out plate structure. The heat from the heating plate is transferred to the welding surfaces of the upper and lower plastic heating parts via electric heating. The surface is melted, and then the heating plate is quickly removed. After the upper and lower heating elements are heated, the molten surfaces melt, solidify, and fuse together. The entire machine is a frame structure, composed of three large plates: an upper mold, a lower mold, and a hot mold. It includes a hot mold and upper and lower plastic cold molds. The operation is pneumatically controlled. It is mainly suitable for welding plastic parts for household appliances, lamps, automotive disassemblers, etc. The heating power and mold size can be set according to different plastic part sizes, enabling the welding of various plastic parts. It is simple to operate and easy to use.
